How
to use Overtake® |
Your goal is to overtake your
competitors in business. |
|
You do this by first increasing
your business competence. You measure your
current Business Intelligence Quotient --
your Business IQ. You then increase your
Business IQ by using this system. From then
on, you exploit your materially increased
expertise to beat your competitors. |
|
Overtake
in 5 steps: |
|
1 |
In this system
we define business and career success in the
5 modules shown here on the left. Understand
them. |
|
2 |
Each module
gives you 5 KSFs -- key success factors.
Know them. Recognize the reality -- the true
extent to which you now exploit these 25
KSFs. |
|
3 |
Rate your
current KSF expertise using our Scale --
from -10 (minus ten, e.g., invincible
ignorance) to +10 (plus ten, e.g., inspired
instincts). |
|
4 |
Measure your
current Business Intelligence Quotient --
your BIQ. Use the BIQ file from Downloads.
100 is an average result. If you have a
two-figure BIQ raise it right now or go out
of business. If you have a low three-figure
BIQ you may have a future in business. If
you have a high three-figure BIQ you should
do well. |
|
5 |
Identify your
low scores -- your KSF weak points. Improve
these by work, experience and learning.
Using this system expect to raise your BIQ
by 25 points. Use your added expertise to
beat your competitors -- that's how to
overtake in business. |

Drill Down |
|
This
Overtake® website has a simple structure: |
|
Typically each page, in its left
navigation bar, shows links to five pages
containing more specific and detailed
information. Consequently, as you 'drill
down' the number of pages at each level is
as follows: |
|
|
Our home page defines
Success |

|
|
Success is characterized in
5 modules. |

|
|
Each module gives you 5 KSFs |
25 |
|
|
Each KSF is analyzed in 5
topics. |

|
If
you are into visualizing spatial
relationships or three-dimensional
geometry think of the structure of our
website as a pentagonal pyramid supporting
success at its apex. |
|
For
each KSF we provide our perspective on
that one book which, in our opinion, is of
most benefit to you. This is the basis of
'Your 25 Books.' We regularly review our
list to ensure that it contains only the
books that work best. |
|
Navigation |
|
Navigation
is simple. You always know where you are
by looking at the 'You are here;' bar near
the top of the page. |
|
Click
the HOME >
SUCCESS link there or the OVERTAKE®
logo in the top left corner to return to
the Home page. |
|
1.2.3 |
|
A location
indicator is shown at the top of the left
navigation bar on each page. |
This
sample display 1.2.3 means that you
are in Module 1 at its KSF 2 and reading
that KSF's Topic 3 page. |
|
We
identify each module by its own
distinctive color-code as shown in the
left navigation bar above. Use our Table
of Contents, our Website Map and our
Search and Browse features to 'find it
fast.' Use the the 'Take me to...' utility
at the top of each page to select and go
to a section. Click any link to jump to
that hyperlinked page. |
|
|
Click
this button to go back. |
|
|
Click this button to go up one
level. |
|
|
Look for a page's weight in
its Summary - like this. |
|
This is its points value in this
1000 points system.
The table of Weights shown here in the
right navigation bar gives you a further
indication of where you are. |
|
|
|
In building
this website we first made certain that
all hypertext complied with the HTML 4.0
specification recommended by the World
Wide Web Consortium (W3C). |
This
ensures ease of interoperability across
the widest range of platforms -- browsers
and operating systems. We then added
Microsoft®-proprietary search and map
utilities that make navigation through our
website even easier. But in a very small
number of older browsers these utilities
may not work, or may not work as intended.
In that event use the navigation bars and
the Table of Contents. This combination of
features delivers the greatest benefits to
most Users. |
